Why be at Proto & Headstart 2009?

Have you ever tried selling an invention or an idea? If you happen to be a ‘nutty’ entrepreneur who is always thinking about building (and selling) the next new new thing – I have news for you. Help has just arrived in the form of innovation show cases – Proto.in and Headstart.in.

Earlier this year, Lipikaar made it to the 4th edition of Proto.in at IIT Delhi. Anjali’s demo of Lipikaar swayed  an audience of over 500 Startup enthusiasts, programmers and technologists and helped them get in touch with computing in their mother tongue. The biggest rush was yet to come. Right after our presentation, our booth was swamped with people interested in acquiring a copy of Lipikaar for themselves and for integrating it in to their business. If a startup journey is full of ups and downs, this is an upside you do not want to miss. For those 2 days, only two things mattered – Product and Community.

This time round – alumni of these events have their fingers crossed. It is important for all of us that both these events are unmatched successes. Their success will reinforce that a harsh economic climate cannot deter innovation. Both events are important beacons for Startup innovation and the creation of future wealth.

Success of these events is not the same as to say that our job is done. Alumni also need to succeed in a business sense. Lipikaar’s reception at Proto got us to believe that we surely have a sensible chance at changing how our world works.

As before, we anticipate that our peers at these events address significant and diverse problems that we face today. Perhaps even in critical areas of Energy and Security. Entrepreneurship is all about the hardship of today for the promise of  a better tomorrow. Ladies and Gentlemen, let’s give a resounding hand for this batch, the cream of the crop.
